I am suffering from amblyopia since childhood but was unaware of this. I couldn’t share it with anyone. It was my dream to serve in the Indian army since childhood but when I went for the medical procedure, I was declared unfit due to the same reason then I came to know about the same. My dream to join the army dream got shattered. Then I realized am facing a problem in only one eye but there are many people whose eyes are non-functional but can be treated then I decided that I have to work in the field of ophthalmology and make people aware of this. I started preparing for this but due to some family problems, I couldn’t make it to the medical college. Then I appeared in the state-level exam and completed my diploma in Opthalmology and gained some experience. I also have worked in AIIMS but was not getting ample satisfaction. I decided to excel in this field and then completed my BDS. I then opened my hospital in the Begusarai district. I was having many options but since childhood, I just wanted to serve the community beyond my benefits. I just wanted to work for the weaker sections of our society. I started a free camp for eye and dental check-ups and treatment from day one. 70 percent of people are facing problems in vision due to cataracts but at that time neither I was that capable nor I was getting enough funding.so I focused mainly on cataract surgery at the lowest cost one could ever have. To ensure my sustainability I also got impaneled with AYUSHMAN BHARAT. I provide free surgery to the AYUSHMAN BHARAT card holders. I also provide free-of-cost medicines and cataract surgery to economically deprived people through my NGO ROOPDEV NAYAN JYOTI SEVA SANSTHAN. Now I am living of childhood dream of serving the people. I feel satisfied when I see the smile on people’s faces sometimes they get emotional after the removal of the bandage as they can see the world with their own eyes again .this are the things inspiring me every day. I pray to god for giving me more and more strength so that I can continue this service and can service the maximum number of people.
